Dimensional Collapse

Dimensional Collapse

Sam van der Hoeven

The angels watched in horror as the man crumbled into a flat, 3-dimensional, ruinous heap. The creature had fallen, right before their eyes, becoming but a shadow of the Being whose image he had so brilliantly borne only moments ago. The man was dead. Dead in every sense that mattered, in every sense that was real. Fallen, not just in the sense of dignity or morality, but in actual spatial dimensionality. Unable to experience the fullness of reality, and therefore unable to truly live. And now, doomed to forever hear the echoes of a reality that would always be just out of reach: the "spiritual" realm that is not spiritual at all, but a reality in which he was designed to live and worship. And now he would struggle to even comprehend or believe in this reality. How great was the fall of man, and how thorough his death.
